[Saba Sports News] On March 15, the official Formula One World Championship announced that the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will not take place in April due to military conflicts in the Middle East. The F1 Bahrain Grand Prix was originally scheduled for April 12, followed by the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on April 19. In the official announcement, F1 stated that the planned events, including F2, F3, and the F1 Academy races, will not occur as scheduled. Although alternative options were considered, due to uncontrollable factors such as ticketing issues, no substitute events will be arranged for April. However, F1 still plans to return to the Middle East in the fall, with the Qatar event (November 29) and the Abu Dhabi finale (December 6) proceeding as planned. In response, F1 Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali stated that this is a difficult decision, but given the current military conflicts in the Middle East, cancellation is undoubtedly the most appropriate choice at this stage. He looks forward to F1 returning to the Middle East as soon as conditions allow, to reunite with fans.
The editor believes that the cancellation of the F1 Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix reflects F1’s prioritization of safety and real-world factors, representing a reasonable and necessary adjustment.
