[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, police are investigating a disturbance in the away section at the Emirates Stadium after Everton forward Thierno Barry claimed his friends were assaulted during his side’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal. On his Instagram story, Barry said his friends were escorted out by Arsenal security and police due to fears of retaliation from Everton fans. The 23-year-old Frenchman also posted a video showing fans fighting. Barry wrote: “This kind of behaviour is unacceptable inside the stadium. I brought my friends to enjoy the game, only for it to be ruined by a few stupid people.” The Metropolitan Police stated there were no reports of serious injuries and no arrests had been made. They are working with the club to identify those involved. Everton Football Club said it was aware of the incident and would be reviewing the circumstances.
The editor believes that violent or disorderly conduct is completely unacceptable. Football should be a place where everyone feels safe and respected. Such behaviour has no place in the sport and will absolutely not be tolerated in the football community.
