[Saba Sports News] The French national team unveiled its new home and away kits for the 2026 World Cup this Monday. The home kit features the traditional blue color, while the away kit is mint green. Notably, the kit’s sponsor used the word “braquage” as its promotional slogan—a term that means armed robbery. The new France national team shirts are priced at €110 each, while versions featuring the new Aero-FIT technology cost as much as €160 apiece. In response, the French fan group Les Irrésistibles Français stated: “Honestly, given the price of the new kit, the word ‘robbery’ fits perfectly. A World Cup shirt for €110 is more expensive than ever before. Considering this World Cup is expected to be one of the costliest ever to attend… this ‘robbery’ is truly well-deserved.”
The editor believes that although the sponsor did not intend the word in that sense, this is how fans have interpreted it. Some fans have been saving money for months or even years to watch the World Cup in person, as the United States is also a dream travel destination for many people. In the end, it will cost a considerable sum, yet fans still hope to attend the matches live and cheer for the French national team.
