[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will be converted into a tennis court for players to practice during the Madrid Tennis Tournament. It is reported that the WTA and ATP Madrid events will take place from late April to early May, and the Bernabéu will be transformed into a tennis court between April 23 and 30, allowing tennis players competing in the Madrid tournament to train on this site. The Bernabéu pitch will be removed after Real Madrid’s match against Alavés on April 21/22, after which preparations will be made for the arrival of the tennis players. According to the schedule, after facing Alavés, Real Madrid will play three consecutive away La Liga matches, including the El Clásico against Barcelona. Real Madrid has not yet publicly responded to the stadium conversion plan, but the tournament organizing committee stated that the renovation work will strictly comply with venue safety standards and ensure that the stadium is restored to its football match conditions as soon as possible after the conversion period.
The editor believes that as the home stadium of Real Madrid, the Santiago Bernabéu will be used as a tennis training venue for the first time. This cross-border move is bound to spark extensive discussions among sports fans, and I believe many supporters are looking forward to witnessing the unique scene of a football home ground transformed into a tennis training facility.
