[Saba Sports News] Liverpool FC has officially announced that ticket prices will be adjusted in line with inflation rates for the next three seasons. The club confirmed that general admission ticket prices will only be adjusted in accordance with inflation over the next three seasons, while ticket prices for young people and local general admission tickets will be permanently frozen at £9. Ticket price adjustments will be aligned with the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate published in January of the corresponding year. This means the price adjustment for the 2026–27 season will be calculated based on the 12-month CPI inflation rate (3%) up to January 2026. Over the next three seasons, ticket price increases will be capped by the CPI inflation rate, with a maximum single-season increase of 5%. Starting next season, the age limit for young adult tickets will be raised from 21 to 24, meaning more supporters will be eligible for a 50% discount on standard adult match tickets.
The editor believes that ticket price hikes are inevitable for clubs amid the fiercely competitive environment of the industry. In addition, clubs continue to invest heavily both on and off the pitch, while also facing a range of uncontrollable rising operating costs.
