[Saba Sports News] According to Brazilian media reports, since Neymar returned to Santos last year, the club’s revenue has increased by nearly 70%. Santos struggled in Brazil’s top-flight Serie A in 2023 and was relegated to Serie B in 2024. In 2025, the club’s total revenue reached 678.5 million reais (around 114.3 million euros), compared with just 407 million reais two years earlier. Revenue rose by nearly 70% compared with 2024, far exceeding the original forecast of 423 million reais. The significant revenue growth brought by Neymar’s arrival was mainly seen in broadcasting rights and fan membership income. In 2025, Santos had more matches broadcast on free-to-air television than any other club, with a total of 18 games shown. Fan membership revenue reached 50 million reais by the end of the year, more than double the projected figure. The Neymar effect was also reflected in increased sponsorships and improved results with existing partners. For instance, the club hit the sales target set out in its agreement with its kit supplier as early as June.
The editor believes that Neymar’s arrival has not only boosted the club’s revenue but also helped it build a more competitive squad for its return to the top flight. Although Santos’ performances on the pitch left much to be desired, the club still narrowly secured a spot in the Copa Sudamericana.
