[Saba Sports News] Nicolas Hamilton has finally achieved a major breakthrough in his career. The younger brother of seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has confirmed that he will compete for the reigning champion team in the British Touring Car Championship in the upcoming season, driving a highly competitive car in pursuit of better results.
Over the years, Nicolas has raced only intermittently due to sponsorship and budget constraints, and the cars he drove were rarely competitive. Even so, he persisted on the BTCC circuit, scoring points twice in 160 races. Living with cerebral palsy, his professional journey has been far more difficult than most, making him a highly inspirational figure in British motorsport.
Earlier this year, he publicly appealed for sponsorship in the hope of remaining on the grid for the 2026 season. Now his efforts have finally paid off. He will join Team VERTU, run by EXCELR8, driving a Hyundai i30 Fastback N, with financial backing from long-term partners.
In my view, although Nicolas Hamilton has not achieved top-level results in his racing career, his spirit of overcoming physical limitations and pursuing professional competition has made him an important role model in motorsport and for the disabled community.
