[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, a grandmother from Kansas revealed that she sold her beloved pool table to the Three Lions squad staying in Kansas City, and she believes she deserves a share of the credit if England ultimately lift the trophy. The 68-year-old Lynn Brown, a resident of Overland Park, Kansas, listed the table online earlier this month before selling it to members of England’s backroom staff. What began as an ordinary Facebook Marketplace listing quickly turned into something extraordinary when the grandmother received a message from staff working with the World Cup side stationed in the city. The pool table changed hands for approximately £520, though her husband had far grander hopes for the deal. Brown laughed as she recounted: “My husband said, ‘Get match tickets!’ And I thought to myself, ‘This table isn’t worth anywhere near the price of their match tickets.’”
The editor believes that even though Lynn Brown failed to get World Cup tickets, she gained an amazing story — and she’s already imagined how it ends. Brown joked: “If England win the World Cup, I’m definitely claiming some of the credit.”
