Curry sat out the last game of the Western Conference series against Oklahoma City Thunder because of injury, and the Warriors were sorry to lose to the Thunder and fail to regain the top spot in the conference. Curry returned from a one-game layoff against a SUNS team led by former teammate Kevin Durant and was in fine form.
Before the game, Curry had scored 23,982 career points in the regular season, just 18 points shy of 24,000. Curry averaged 29.7 minutes per game in the first 14 games of the season, his lowest in five seasons, but he still averaged 22.4 points per game and has scored 20 or more points in eight games this season, including 35 or more in two games, showing his ability to score efficiently even while playing less time.
