Felipe Diallo said: “At the moment, he is in a difficult period for sports. As the best player in the world, he is an irreplaceable asset to the French team. My only wish is that he returns to his best condition and returns for the next national team training camp in March and continues to give his all to the team.”
“I know Didier Deschamps personally went to Madrid and had many conversations with him. I think it’s natural for the coach to communicate directly with the players. Didier keeps me informed of their conversations and the decisions that were made.”
Diallo, meanwhile, expressed full confidence in Deschamps’ decision: “I am the president of the football association, not the coach, there is no problem with that,
Ms. Diallo also declined to comment on an investigation into a sexual assault in Stockholm that Mr. Mbappe was allegedly involved in in October. “Maybe [investigators] have more information than I do because there is a presumption of innocence involved here and I will not comment further on that,” he said. In doing so, he made it clear that he was unwilling to pursue the case in depth.
