Scottie Thompson had a triple-double, and Stephen Holt held George King to good defensive work as Gin Kings beat Bossing 112-98 to take over second place in Class B and improve to 4-2.
Blackwater, which had won three straight, fell to fifth after the game, falling to 3-4 behind Rain or Shine (5-1), Ginebra, San Miguel Beer (3-2) and NLEX (3-3).
Ginebra coach Tim Cone said: “I think we need to adjust our mentality and play at a higher intensity because they have proved to be a strong team.” Ginebra did exactly that this time.
Holt played a key role as King, who had stunned the game with 33 points and 19 rebounds in the previous meeting, deliberately targeted him.
