(sabasports resport) After a practice with the Mavericks, NBA star Kyrie Irving spoke to reporters about his difficulty adjusting to the culture during his time with the Celtics.

“In Boston, I had a hard time at first. I want to know how to be a great player here, lead a team to win a championship, selflessly join this team, or be a part of their cult following, “Irving said.
“As a player, they want you to fully embrace Celtic pride and everything about Celtic. If you don’t, you’re out, and I’m one of them. I’m not complaining at all, you know what I mean. It was my own mess. Even though I knew a lot of people in the team, even some of my friends, they didn’t give me a warm welcome.”
Irving’s candid reflection revealed the challenges he faced in assimilating into the Celtics’ culture, with his ambitions contrasting with the realities he encountered during his time in Boston.
