Irving said: “I use meditation when I’m anxious to reduce the feeling, but it’s really hard because you don’t know what the mood swings are going to be. Life isn’t perfect, basketball isn’t perfect, you’re going to make big shots and you’re going to miss them, and that’s all part of basketball, so accept your anxiety and learn some ways to turn it into motivation.”

Irving says he began writing down his goals and ideas in fourth grade to prepare himself for any questions he might encounter later and to understand why he was doing what he was doing. “You know, my notebook right now has so much that I’ve accomplished, but there’s also so much that I want to do in this world.” Irving said.
