Laporta said: “We are very sad about the passing of Neskens, he was an extraordinary player. When he played for Barcelona in the 1970s, his style of play impressed all the Barcelona fans and he gave all his heart to the club. It was because of players like Neskens that Barca grew into a great team in that era.”
He added: “After his retirement, Neskens also worked as an assistant coach at Barcelona and I am very close to him and his family. As president of Barca, I want to share this pain with his family. This news is very sad for us.
