(SabaSports) Damian Lillard recently appeared on “Club 520” to talk about his favorite current players, and he made a list of five players that has generated a fair amount of controversy. In particular, stars beloved by fans and the media like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were not mentioned. Lillard started by mentioning Anthony Edwards, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, who is already playing at an MVP-level and has continued to improve in recent seasons.
In the 2024 playoffs, Edwards is averaging 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. However, despite his performance, the Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the Western Conference finals, losing to the Dallas Mavericks. In addition, in the 2024 offseason, Edwards helped the U.S. men’s basketball team win an Olympic gold medal.
