[Saba Sports News] In the early morning of December 1, 2024, Paris Saint-Germain held Nantes to a 1-1 draw at home at the PARC des Princes. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain again failed to take all three points despite facing a weaker opposition.

Defender Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring for PSG just two minutes into the game. However, in the 38th minute, Nantes managed to level the score and the two sides ended the game 1-1.
In this game, Paris Saint-Germain’s possession rate reached 85%, creating the highest single-game possession record in Ligue 1 history (according to Opta data). Unfortunately, that possession did not translate into victory, ending the team’s previous five-game winning streak in Ligue 1.
In the table, Paris Saint-Germain after 13 rounds of 33 points, still firmly at the top of Ligue 1, and maintain an unbeaten record. With Monaco yet to complete the 13th round, Paris provisionally leads by seven points. Still, the draw with Nantes has certainly increased the pressure on the club and coach Enrique.
Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the fifth round of the Central European Champions League on Monday, leaving them second in their group. Under the new 2024/25 Champions League format, the top eight teams in the group stage will advance directly to the round of 16, while teams ninth to 24th will compete for the remaining eight spots through play-offs. For now, Paris Saint-Germain faces a big challenge to advance directly to the last 16.
Next up for Paris Saint-Germain are strong Champions League rivals such as Manchester City, Red Bull Salzburg and Stuttgart. If the French giants end up out of European competition early, it would be a severe blow to the club.
