Rashford: “I think it’s definitely not the start we wanted before the start of the season, I think everyone knows football is a results-driven game and always has been. So we need to get a good result and I’m pretty sure, with the squad and the work we have put in with the staff, that once we get that first hard-fought win we can move on. So we know what it’s going to take to get the next win and then it’s up to the players to show consistency, which we haven’t been able to do. From what happened last year, we were very consistent at home but inconsistent away from home and we need to find a balance.”

“The people who write or talk about these things can’t help me, only the people in this office building can help me and help the team. So I didn’t hear anything, I knew it was going to come, every time we lose a game the criticism is going to come, so when you lose three games it’s definitely going to be judged all over again. But for me and the other players, we have to be brave, we are not here to shirk our responsibilities, we are here to prove ourselves and show that we can contribute to the team. Different games require different things, so you might have to do different things in the game and you might not be happy with that, but you have to put the team first and that’s the situation we’re in and the situation we need to get out of.”
