In the PBA’s 49th season Governor’s Cup game, Hopson again came from the arc in the crunch to help Condos pull off a 100-99 upset over Terrafirma, boosting the team’s playoff hopes.
It was Hopson’s second game-winning four-pointer from long range. He also hit a 27-footer at the end of the game in a hard-fought 96-95 win at TNT on Aug. 27,
“It’s great to have such a key weapon and of course to make the most of it,” said Franco Atienza, the head coach of Condos. The four-pointer helped Condos rally from a seven-point deficit to within three in the final 1:40,
Atienza added: “We have to take risks, especially when we are not sure about the result of extra time. This time the four-pointer came again, and once again Scottie Hopson played the hero’s role. Once again, luck is on our side.”
