(sabasports report) The Washington Wizards edged out the Sacramento Kings 73-69 in a tight matchup in the NBA Summer League. The Wizards’ No. 2 overall pick, Alex Sarr, still failed to find an offensive feel in this game, hitting iron frequently. However, he contributed late in the game to help the team win.

Sal had two points, 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 27 minutes and 34 seconds of play, making just 1 of 6 shots. Though he struggled offensively, he was instrumental in the win by pulling down key rebounds and setting up Baldwin for a game-winning three-pointer, and then defending against an opponent.
Sal’s shooting performance in the last two games has been alarming, going 1 for 21 (0 for 15 in the last game). Still, he was impressive in other areas, especially on defense and rebounding. His all-around ability has the coaching staff excited about his future.
The Wizards have shown a tenacious spirit in the summer league, and the young players have gained valuable experience in the game. As the game progresses, Sal needs to find the rhythm of his offense and improve his shooting percentage to reach his full potential. Summer League is an important training opportunity for these rookies, and hopefully they can continue to improve in the coming games.
