According to French media reports, 19-year-old Tahirys Dos Santos, a player for FC Metz in Ligue 1, suffered severe burns in the fire. It was reported that Dos Santos was first taken to a hospital in Sion and later transferred to the burn unit at a hospital in Stuttgart. His agent stated in a media interview that Dos Santos is currently unable to speak, and his parents have arrived at the hospital to be with him.
His agent mentioned, “The biggest piece of good news right now is that, contrary to what the doctors expected, he has regained some lung function and no longer needs to rely on a ventilator. He may need to undergo skin graft surgery tonight. When the fire broke out, Tahirys was on the first floor of the bar, and despite this, he struggled to escape. His girlfriend was also severely injured and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.”
