[Saba Sports News] At 37, longtime NBA veteran Danny Green still has his hoop dreams.
During his “Ballin’ in the RGV” basketball camp in Edinburg, Texas, Green told reporters he aims to return to the NBA. “I would love to come back if I had the opportunity,” Green said, according to Blake Holland of ValleyCentral.com. “I have not officially retired. There’s free agency going on right now, and my phone lines are open.”
Green, a 3-and-D specialist, has won three NBA championships with the Spurs, Raptors, and Lakers. He made the All-Defensive Second Team in 2016-17 and is a 40% career three-point shooter.
Despite his achievements, Green faces challenges. He turned 37 in June, has 15 seasons under his belt, and suffered a torn ACL and LCL in April 2022, limiting him to 13 games since then with Memphis, Cleveland, and Philadelphia.
Although his last NBA team didn’t treat him well, Green is determined to finish his career on his own terms if given the chance.
