[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, a survey conducted by polling firm Odoxa for RTL and Winamax shows that the public does not favour Kylian Mbappé being deployed as a centre-forward for France at the World Cup. Some 61 percent of football fans polled would prefer him to play on the left wing or start the match from the substitutes’ bench.
The survey sampled a total of 1,005 respondents, among whom 445 were football fans. Of these football fans, 61 percent opposed Mbappé lining up as the starting centre-forward. Specifically, 25 percent of this group wanted him to play as a left winger, while 36 percent preferred him to come off the bench during the game. It is also worth noting that the football fans surveyed favoured a midfield pairing of N’Golo Kanté and Adrien Rabiot ahead of Aurélien Tchouaméni. France will kick off their World Cup campaign against Senegal, before taking on Iraq and Norway in their subsequent group matches.
The editor believes that Kylian Mbappé is about to feature in his third World Cup. From my perspective, Mbappé has truly matured. As for which position he should play, that is a decision for France head coach Didier Deschamps to make.
