[Saba Sports News] Recently, AC Milan officially announced the establishment of a Hall of Fame, with Franco Baresi becoming the first inductee. As part of the 125th anniversary celebration activities, AC Milan launched a project aimed at commemorating its outstanding achievements and history with support from one of its longest-standing partners, Emirates Airlines—the AC Milan Hall of Fame. The first player inducted into the AC Milan Hall of Fame is Baresi, who joined AC Milan’s youth training system in 1972 and made his first-team debut in 1977. He served the Rossoneri for 20 years until his retirement in 1997. During his career at AC Milan, Baresi made a total of 719 official appearances and won numerous important titles including 6 Serie A championships and 3 Champions League titles. Currently, Baresi serves as honorary vice president at AC Milan. After receiving this recognition, 64-year-old Baresi said: “I am deeply honored to be chosen as the first inductee into AC Milan’s Hall of Fame; it represents the glorious history of this club and celebrates my 50-year career with the Rossoneri.”
