[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Al Nassr has been banned from registering new players due to owing transfer fees for Aymeric Laporte, following a complaint from Manchester City. The reports indicate that FIFA has halted Al Nassr’s ability to register new players because Manchester City did not receive the transfer fee owed by Al Nassr on time. This fee is related to the transfer of Spanish defender Laporte from Manchester City to Al Nassr, which took place during the summer transfer window of 2023.
Sources suggest that the amount involved in Manchester City’s complaint to FIFA is €9 million, with the payment originally due on August 31. However, Al Nassr failed to pay on time. Recently, FIFA released an announcement stating that Al Nassr is prohibited from registering new players due to the unresolved case. It is reported that the ban will be lifted once Al Nassr pays the owed amount. This summer, Al Nassr sold Laporte to Athletic Bilbao, where he made a total of 69 appearances for the team.
