[Saba Sports News] Recently, Como 1907 officially announced the termination of Dele Alli’s contract. In a statement, Como said: “Como club and Dele Alli have reached an agreement to terminate his contract early. Alli is eager for consistent playing time, which is not part of the club’s current plans, so both parties believe parting ways before the transfer window closes is the right decision. The club thanks Alli for his contributions during his time at Como and wishes him all the best for the future.” According to British media reports, Alli himself is considering retirement. Last season’s winter transfer window, Alli joined Serie A’s Como on a free transfer, making only one substitute appearance for 10 minutes and receiving a red card in half a season. This was, in fact, Alli’s only match in the past two and a half years. In 2018, a 22-year-old Alli had produced 36 goals and 28 assists over two seasons for Tottenham Hotspur, and his market value reached 100 million euros. However, subsequently affected by injuries, attitude, and other factors, Alli’s performance continually declined. He moved to Everton on a free transfer in 2022 and was loaned to Besiktas in the Turkish Süper Lig after one season. On February 26, 2023, Alli played his last match for Besiktas. Since then, due to injury and form, Alli had not played any matches until joining Como this past January. Currently 29 years old, Alli’s Transfermarkt value is only 2 million euros.
