[Saba Sports News] Previously, well-known sports brands Li-Ning and Yonex both offered high-priced sponsorship contracts to South Korea’s top female badminton player, An Se-young. Li-Ning’s offer was higher, providing an annual contract worth 3.5 billion Korean won, which was more than Yonex’s offer of 2.5 billion Korean won. However, An Se-young ultimately chose Yonex. Under the guidance of her lawyer, she considered factors such as price, equipment quality, promotional rights, and after-sales service. This not only reflects An Se-young’s emphasis on her career but also demonstrates her deep understanding and selection ability of brands. Although Li-Ning offered a higher price, Yonex may have provided a more suitable proposal in terms of promotional rights. For example, Yonex might create a more personalized promotional plan for An Se-young, helping her enhance her personal brand image and expand her global influence, aligning with her career development plan. Additionally, it is noteworthy that this contract sets a new record for the highest single sponsorship amount in Korean badminton history, setting a precedent for other Korean badminton players.
