Septon will conduct his final live announcement at the upcoming home game against Crystal Palace, where Liverpool is set to lift the Premier League trophy. Since 1971, George Septon has been seated at the Anfield broadcast booth, his iconic voice accompanying generations of Liverpool fans through historic moments, from announcing starting lineups to setting the atmosphere with music. In his own words, “Being called ‘the Voice of Anfield’ is the greatest honor of my life. I’ve been fortunate to witness many great moments in football history up close, and these memories will remain etched in my heart forever. Anfield is my second home, and I feel incredibly blessed to have worked there for over fifty years. Now, it’s time to pass the torch.” Septon’s retirement also marks the end of a unique era for Liverpool FC. Fans will pay their final tribute to this legendary “voice” during the season finale.
