[Saba Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was ready for the challenge after his team lost Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets tied the series 2-2 after defeating the Timberwolves 115-107 at Target Center in Minneapolis.
After taking the lead late in the first quarter, the Nuggets never trailed again and led by as many as 18 points. Edwards and Jamal Murray exchanged words after the final buzzer. During his postgame press conference, Edwards shared that he encouraged Murray to keep up the trash talk.
“I just told him, ‘We love that. Keep talking. That’s what we like.’ Well, I love it. He didn’t say anything back, but I’m pretty sure he heard me. They heard me. We live for that,” Edwards said.
Edwards finished with a game-high 44 points on 16/25 shooting from the field but didn’t get much help from his teammates, as no other Timberwolves player scored more than 15 points.
The Nuggets, meanwhile, got an MVP-level performance from Nikola Jokic, who tallied 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Aaron Gordon added 27 points on 11/12 shooting, and Murray had 19 points and 8 assists.
