Sports News] The Manchester Police Department has confirmed that the
allegations of domestic violence against Manchester United star Antony are
still under investigation. The player’s representatives have also acknowledged
that the Brazilian authorities are conducting their own investigation, and all
parties involved are awaiting the conclusion of the inquiries. The off-field
accusations have been of serious nature, and Erik ten Hag believes that they
may have contributed to the player’s recent lackluster performances. Despite
being linked to the off-field situation, Antony has struggled to make an impact
on the field. He has not started a Premier League match in the past two months,
and his overall performance this season has been below expectations. In all
competitions, he has made 29 appearances, scoring only one goal and providing
one assist in the FA Cup against fourth-tier team Newport County. The reason
behind Ten Hag’s decision to sideline Antony is simply that the player has not
performed well enough. However, both Ten Hag and Manchester United have shown
support for Anthony since his return to training, understanding that his
ongoing investigation may have affected his performance.
