[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Arsenal is considering expanding the Emirates Stadium. Currently, architectural design companies have provided various proposals to Arsenal. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s competitors are accelerating their expansion or building new stadiums to increase financial income. Earlier this week, Manchester United announced plans to build a new stadium worth £2 billion, which will hold 100,000 people, making it the largest stadium in the UK. Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium currently has 60,704 seats, making it the fifth-largest stadium in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has a seating capacity of 62,850, West Ham’s stadium has 62,500 seats, and Liverpool’s stadium has 61,276 seats, all exceeding Arsenal’s capacity. Additionally, Manchester City may soon surpass them as they are expanding their North Stand, which will also increase the Etihad Stadium’s seating capacity to over 60,000. Furthermore, costs and the length of the project are major considerations for Arsenal. It is understood that Arsenal was invited to host the Euro 2028 matches, but they declined because Emirates Airlines chose to use the Emirates Stadium for events and concerts in the summer of 2028.
