[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, there has been a major change in Arsenal’s management structure, with Executive Vice-Chairman Tim Lewis confirming his departure after five years in the role. Lewis was seen as a key ally to manager Mikel Arteta, acting as an important intermediary between the head coach and the club’s owners, the Kroenke family. Recently, he played a crucial role in the appointment of the new sporting director, Andrea Berta, and formed a transfer trio with Berta and Arteta, overseeing the signing of eight players for approximately £250 million this summer. Arsenal officially described this change as a “positive step” aimed at allowing the Kroenke family to be more directly involved in decision-making. To facilitate this, the club has appointed Kelly Brough and Otto Maly from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment as non-executive directors. Additionally, Managing Director Richard Garlick has been promoted to CEO, and long-term season ticket holder and film producer Ben Winston will also join the board as a non-executive director. Club co-owner Josh Kroenke, in a statement, thanked Lewis for his contributions during a transformative period for the club and stated that the new members would bring “a wealth of experience” and “fresh thinking” to the club.
