[Saba Sports News] The badminton event at the Paris Olympics has successfully concluded, with Danish men’s singles player Viktor Axelsen successfully defending his gold medal. Recently, he returned to his home country of Denmark and, in an interview with the media, Axelsen not only discussed his feelings about winning the title but also revealed an important piece of news: he plans to compete in the next Olympics and will strive to defend his title once again. Axelsen said, “If, when the qualification rounds for the 2028 Olympic badminton tournament begin, I am still competitive and performing well in international competitions, then why shouldn’t I participate?” Axelsen’s path to victory was not smooth. He faced challenges, including an ankle surgery and a COVID-19 infection, but he maintained a positive attitude and continued to train hard. Ultimately, he successfully defended his title without dropping a single set, once again proving his strength. In my opinion, Axelsen’s victory carries significant meaning on many levels. From a personal perspective, it is the highlight of his career, proving that his strength and hard work have paid off, allowing him to realize his Olympic dream.
