It is reported that Bao Chunlai’s father is a well-known amateur table tennis enthusiast. Initially, due to his son’s abundant energy, he hoped that Bao would pursue table tennis. At 15, Bao was selected for the Chinese badminton youth team and won both the men’s team championship at the 2000 Asian Junior Championships and the men’s singles title at the World Junior Championships.
