[Saba Sports News] Charles Barkley has criticized WNBA players for their negative treatment of Caitlin Clark.
During an appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Barkley expressed frustration with how Clark has been targeted. “These ladies, and I’m a WNBA fan, they couldn’t have treated Caitlin Clark any worse,” Barkley said. “She’s incredible, bringing so much attention to both college and the pros, and for these women to show such petty jealousy—it’s baffling. And the best part is, she never says a word.”
Barkley highlighted the negativity Clark has faced, calling it driven by jealousy.
Clark, the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft, has already led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs, setting rookie records for three-pointers and assists. Despite her success, opponents have targeted her on the court, and she was even left off the Olympic team, a puzzling decision.
Barkley believes this behavior is foolish and hopes it changes.
