Sports News] During the winter break of the Saudi Professional League, teams
have started to resume training. However, Karim Benzema did not return to his
team, Jeddah United, as scheduled. According to reports from Spanish media, all
Jeddah United players were expected to rejoin the club on January 12, but
Benzema failed to do so. Consequently, he will also miss Jeddah United’s
warm-up match in Dubai, and the coach, Gallardo, has excluded him from the
subsequent training sessions. Benzema explained that he was unable to return on
time due to being trapped in Mauritius, where he was on vacation, because of
severe weather caused by a tropical cyclone. However, there are additional
reports stating that Benzema had already missed three training sessions with
Jeddah United before the team went on holiday at the end of the previous year.
Benzema joined Jeddah United last summer, but his performance has faced
criticism from both fans and media. As a result, he has closed his Instagram
account. Currently, Jeddah United ranked seventh in the Saudi Professional
League, sitting 25 points behind the league leaders.
