[Saba Sports News] Former F1 boss Bernard Charles Ecclestone responded to speculation about whether Lewis Hamilton could win his eighth F1 World Championship with a blunt “no hope.” His answer not only hurt Hamilton’s fans but also directly pointed out the deep issues within Ferrari in the new season. Hamilton joined Ferrari at the start of the season, and this combination of the most successful F1 driver in history and the most legendary team was seen as a golden opportunity to chase an eighth title — but reality has been far from expected. Hamilton has only managed good results in sprint races, but in 11 Grand Prix races, he has never finished in the top three and even failed to start from the front row. Currently, he ranks sixth in the drivers’ standings with 91 points, 125 points behind the leader Oscar Piastri, and 28 points behind his teammate Charles Leclerc. When asked if Hamilton could climb to the top of the podium again, 94-year-old Bernie coldly replied: “No.” He further explained his view, saying that everyone’s career has its ups and downs, and Hamilton was lucky in an era with few strong rivals. But now it’s different — F1 competition has become much fiercer.
