[Saba Sports News] Currently, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is going through a tough phase in his F1 career. Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has questioned Ferrari’s decision to sign the British driver. After Hamilton was eliminated in Q2 of the Hungarian Grand Prix, he expressed extreme disappointment, calling himself “worthless” and urging Ferrari to replace him. He also doubted whether he could regain form after the summer break and even hinted at potentially retiring from F1 altogether. Bernie had previously suggested that Hamilton should retire immediately. Now, the former F1 chief believes Ferrari did not make the best choice. He said: “I’m not sure if signing Lewis was the right decision. Lewis clearly has talent, but he’s a bit into political games.” However, there is an exception: at least in Bernie’s view, both Hamilton and Ferrari are guilty of political maneuvering. He called both parties’ actions “typical.” Despite that, he does not rule out the possibility of Hamilton making a comeback, believing it would be good for both the legend and the Ferrari team.
