[Saba Sports News]Former F1 driver Marcus Ericsson has officially become the simulator driver for the Cadillac F1 Team. The Swedish driver previously raced for the Sauber F1 Team and is currently competing in the IndyCar Series for Andretti Autosport. His task now is to conduct simulator work for the Cadillac F1 Team. Given Ericsson’s F1 driving experience, he can provide valuable contributions to the team’s development. Cadillac will make its F1 debut in 2026, and the team’s executives hope to achieve a good start in the preparatory work. In response, Ericsson stated that he will travel to the UK to test various simulators, covering multiple areas including Formula 1, IndyCar, and sports cars, so the team can select the right models for the entire organization. In my view, Ericsson is an experienced former F1 driver with unique insights into aspects like car performance, driving feel, and simulator fidelity, and his involvement will provide strong technical support and assurance for Cadillac’s performance in F1 in 2026.
