[Saba Sports News] Recently, the official website of Shanghai University of Sport released the “Notice on the Appointment of Middle-Level Cadres under the Appointment System.” Among them, Olympic champion and former Chinese national badminton team captain Cai Yun is proposed to serve as the Deputy Dean of the Coach College at Shanghai University of Sport. According to the public notice, Cai Yun holds a bachelor’s degree in law and is a senior coach and international-class athlete. He joined the workforce in March 1996 and currently serves as a full-time teacher at the School of Competitive Sports at Shanghai University of Sport. Throughout his badminton career, Cai Yun partnered with Fu Haifeng. Together, they won the Sudirman Cup and three consecutive world championship men’s doubles titles, setting a Guinness World Record for the most men’s doubles world championships. In the 2012 London Olympics men’s doubles final, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng won the gold medal — the first time China won an Olympic badminton men’s doubles title. During their careers, the pair won a total of 17 world titles.
