Sports News] Recently, a video circulated on social media showing a Chelsea
ball boy being left alone on the field during the match between Liverpool and
Chelsea. This incident received significant criticism from fans, directed
towards the Chelsea players. In response to the incident, Chelsea reportedly
contacted the ball boy’s family and extended an invitation for him to be the
captain’s ball boy in another match. Chelsea emphasized that the responsibility
for overseeing the ball boys lies with the club’s coordinator, not the players.
According to Premier League rules, ball boy coordinators are not required to be
on the field but instead wait on the sidelines as the ball boys and players
enter the pitch. Typically, the players attend to the ball boys before kick-off
and then return them to the sidelines. However, in this particular instance, as
the Chelsea players were exchanging greetings before the game, the ball boy was
left alone and ended up leaving the pitch by himself.
