[Saba Sports News] The 2025-2026 China International Badminton Challenge has chosen Nanan City in Fujian Province as its host city, according to the Chinese Badminton Association. It is planned that this year’s tournament will be held from October 28th to November 2nd. Athletes from all over the world will gather in Nan’an, Fujian for an intense showdown. Notably, the competition will try out the new “best of 3 sets with 15 points” scoring system, which adds more excitement and anticipation to the event. According to the BWF announcement, the “best of 3 sets with 15 points” scoring system uses a two-out-of-three format, deciding each set at 15 points, with a break at the 8th point to allow athletes to adjust their state; if the score is tied at 14-all, the winning side needs to win by 2 clear points to end the set, with a maximum score cap of 21 points per set. It was reported that this season will try out the new rule of 15 points per set in some competitions, and the China International Badminton Challenge is one of them. In our opinion, this rule change breaks the traditional 21-point format model and greatly tests the athletes’ tactical adaptability and physical distribution strategy, enhancing the suspense and viewing experience of the event.
