[Saba Sports News] Mid-week, the second team of the Chinese badminton team held a full meeting in Beijing to study and implement the spirit of the membership representatives’ conference and the national badminton industry safety production work conference organized by the Chinese Badminton Association on April 7, assigning tasks to implement various requirements proposed at the meeting, and signing the Anti-Gambling and Anti-Counterfeit Agreement and the Anti-Doping Agreement, laying a solid foundation of ideology and systems for the team’s preparation for international events and sprinting towards the Los Angeles Olympics. Vice President Tian Bingyi of the Chinese Badminton Association conveyed the relevant spirit and requirements of the annual safety production work conference of the association during the meeting. Chairman Zhang Jun emphasized that safety production is the lifeline of sports endeavors and must be advanced “with the highest standards, strictest requirements, and most practical measures.” Vice Chairman Xia Xuanze requested that gambling and counterfeit activities should be severely cracked down on, the sports ecosystem purified, supervision strengthened, and youth growth protected, holding accountable seriously to build a firm line of defense for the industry. The meeting proposed: comprehensively upgrading event safety, investigating and rectifying major risks and hidden dangers; strengthening safety inspections of sports venues and facilities to ensure training and competition site safety; systematically advancing anti-doping work, adopting a “zero tolerance” policy towards doping issues; rectifying match conduct and discipline, strongly combating gambling and counterfeit behaviors, and enhancing supervision and management. It required all members to implement the spirit of the meeting in daily training and competitions, strictly abide by professional ethics, and demonstrate the discipline and sense of responsibility of national team athletes.
