[Saba Sports News] The Olympic badminton tournament is currently underway, and recently, in a women’s doubles group match between China and Japan, fans noticed that the Chinese women’s doubles team had an additional armband on their arms, drawing attention from fans. Media later explained that the armband is not mysterious; it is an arm-type heart rate monitor used to track athletes’ physical conditions. Similar to a fitness tracker, the arm-type heart rate monitor’s main function is to monitor the athletes’ real-time heart rate changes and provide accurate heart rate data to coaches for training load adjustments. Wearing a heart rate monitor is beneficial as it helps to safeguard athletes’ health and prevent extreme situations to some extent. It is suggested that other badminton teams from different countries could consider adopting this practice, as there have been cases of sudden deaths of Chinese badminton players during matches recently.
