[Saba Sports News] A groundbreaking ceremony and project promotion meeting for the Lin Dan International Badminton Education Center, affiliated to Hainan Foreign Language School of Beijing Foreign Studies University, was recently held in Chengmai County, Hainan Province. Lin Dan, Olympic badminton champion, two-time Grand Slam winner and founder of Danhui (Guangzhou) Sports Culture Co., Ltd., together with Xie Xingfang, world badminton champion and co-founder of the same firm, attended the event. Jointly developed by Hainan Foreign Language School of Beijing Foreign Studies University and Danhui (Guangzhou) Sports Culture Co., Ltd., this project marks China’s first international badminton sports education program. Covering a total land area of 115 mu with an overall investment of 700 million yuan, the project is split into two core zones: The teaching zone spans 100,000 square meters with an investment of 520 million yuan; The badminton training hall covers 36,000 square meters with an investment of 180 million yuan. The project is planned to build nearly 100 training courts compliant with international competition standards, adopting a dual-core layout integrating cultural teaching areas and professional training areas.
The editor believes that this integrated sports-education complex integrates international schooling, elite champion-level training and boarding facilities all in one. Upon completion, it will become the world’s first and China’s sole Lin Dan International Badminton Education Center, serving as an exemplary model of academic schooling integrated with professional sports training.
