[Saba Sports News] F1 legend David Coulthard recently spoke to the media about Red Bull’s star driver Max Verstappen, recalling when he competed against him. He mentioned that he drove the Red Bull RB7 at Imola and clocked a flying lap that was five seconds slower than Verstappen. Coulthard said, “It’s been over ten years since I last pushed to the limit at Imola, and I’m no longer an active driver. I was actually quite satisfied with the result at that time.” He admitted that since retiring, his neck circumference has shrunk by more than two inches, and now he only has the excess fat from aging, while young drivers still have strong neck muscles. The high lateral G-forces and helmet weight in F1 require drivers to train hard every day. Coulthard has many achievements in his F1 career, winning 13 Grand Prix races and finishing second in the drivers’ championship in 2001.
