[Saba Sports News] D’Angelo Russell might have a suitor this offseason from The Sunshine State.
Kelly Iko of The Athletic reported that the Orlando Magic are interested in the Los Angeles Lakers guard. Russell can become a free agent this summer if he declines his $18.7 million player option for the 2024-25 season.
Russell, 28, is expected to test the market after one of his most efficient seasons, with 46/42/83 shooting splits and averages of 18.0 points and 6.3 assists per game.
The Magic, with ample cap space, are looking for a high-scoring guard to pair with defensive-minded Jalen Suggs and provide veteran depth and floor-spacing for franchise player Paolo Banchero. Russell, a former All-Star, could meet those needs, as might another rumored Orlando target.
