[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid missed Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to knee soreness, leading to disappointment and vocal taunts from Nuggets fans. During the first quarter, fans chanted “Where’s Embiid at?” as Embiid sat out his fourth consecutive game in Denver. His previous absences were due to injuries to his meniscus and calf, as well as COVID.
Embiid was a last-minute withdrawal from the game, with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that 76ers trainers, after observing him during warmups, decided to bench him for the game due to concerns about his left knee.
The matchup between Jokic and Embiid, who have collectively won the last three MVP awards, is always eagerly awaited. However, since 2019, Nuggets fans haven’t had the opportunity to witness this duel, leading to speculation and frustration. Embiid’s latest absence in Denver may further fuel fan theories that he is intentionally avoiding the road matchup, despite no evidence to suggest this.
