The Phoenix Suns star got petty on social media this weekend in response to the Dallas Mavericks’ blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Booker trolled the Mavs by revisiting an old post from their official X account.
Earlier in the week, the Mavericks had joined the viral “you can’t post a random picture and expect people to understand it” trend by sharing the famous image of Doncic smirking at Booker during their heated 2022 playoff matchup. Their caption read, *“Ok last one we swear.”*
After news of the trade broke, Booker quote-posted it with a sarcastic response, “Kept their word.” The jab implied that, with Doncic gone, the Mavs wouldn’t be posting any more of those moments.
The beef between Booker and Doncic dates back to that 2022 playoff series, which Dallas won in seven games. The two guards openly traded barbs throughout the series, leading to the birth of the now-iconic meme photo.
Now that Doncic is in L.A., their rivalry might only heat up further. With the Lakers and Suns in the same division, Booker and Doncic are set to face off at least four times a season—plenty of opportunities for more trolling.
