[Saba Sports News] The deeper the NBA playoffs go, the closer Draymond Green inches toward a potential suspension due to his growing list of technical fouls.
During the first half of Game 2 in the Western Conference semifinals between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center on Thursday night, Green was hit with another technical.
The incident occurred after Timberwolves forward Naz Reid fouled Green while attempting a steal — Green reacted by swinging his left arm and striking Reid in the head, prompting the officials to assess the technical.
The call marked Green’s fifth technical foul of the postseason. Under NBA rules, a player receives an automatic one-game suspension upon reaching seven technical fouls in a single postseason. Green is also just two flagrant foul points away from another suspension trigger.
Green was visibly frustrated with the call and had words for the officials, but his protests did nothing to reverse the decision.
The Warriors began Game 2 with a 1-0 lead in the series, which is expected to go at least five games. At his current pace, Green could easily hit the suspension threshold before the series concludes.
