[Saba Sports News] Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan compared Red Bull driver Max Verstappen to football superstar Lionel Messi when describing Verstappen’s outstanding performance at the 2024 F1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Starting from 17th position, Verstappen won the championship, finishing nearly 20 seconds ahead of the second-place driver. This victory puts the Dutch driver on the verge of securing his fourth F1 world championship, which he could achieve later this month at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. In an interview with Talksport, Jordan praised Verstappen’s skills and compared him to some of the greatest F1 drivers in history. Jordan stated that although drivers like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher are excellent, there was no better driver than Verstappen at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Jordan expressed that Verstappen’s status in F1 is akin to that of Messi and Diego Maradona in football.
